How to calculate loadmeters for cargo

How to calculate loadmeters for the standard EUR pallet and for cargo with odd dimensions. 

Pallets

1 PALLET = 0,4 loadmeters

2 PALLETS = 0,8 ldm

3 PALLETS  = 1,2 ldm 

And so on

Odd dims
Calculate the lenght x wide and devide it with 2,40  (m) (which equals how wide the normal truckspace is).  For exampel a bunch off pipes with Lenght 3 meters x Width 0,5 meter / 2,4 m = 0,62 roundup to 0,7 loadmeters.
